About Christene...
Christene's love for storytelling is deeply rooted in her experiences, both personal and professional. Growing up in the Midwest, she developed a profound appreciation for nature and the outdoors. This love only deepened when she and her husband purchased a cabin in the Northwoods of Minnesota, a place that would become not just a retreat but a wellspring of inspiration for her writing.

Before pursuing writing full-time, Christene dedicated over two decades to the field of education, working as both a special education teacher and a district administrator. Her work with students, particularly those with special needs, has left an indelible mark on her writing, infusing it with empathy, understanding, and a keen insight into the human experience.

Christene's journey as a writer began with a desire to share stories that resonate with readers of all ages. Her debut middle school book, "Ember of the Woods," is a testament to her ability to craft narratives that are both captivating and deeply meaningful. Set in the wild backdrop of the Northwoods, the story follows a young girl grappling with loss and change as she navigates the challenges of a new life. Through her protagonist's eyes, Christene explores themes of grief, resilience, friendship, and the healing power of faith and nature.
